As always, I�d like to start my greeting by thanking all of you for your hard work for our organization.
The World Cup is just around the corner, and I assume that the competitors are getting ready for this event. They have been through a hard time, with probably harder training than we even can imagine. The world�s strongest fighters will come from all over the world, no matter of nationality or culture; they will all join this great event. And I guess I�m not the only one, who becomes excited just by imagine what kind of fighting they will show us in St. Petersburg.
I�m also convinced that their fighting will show the world that we, the WKO are the strongest Budo Organization in the world.
To the competitors; please take care of the remaining days, and be careful not to injure yourselves, please come to Russia in top condition.
I assume that the Russian Branch is extremely busy with the last preparations of the tournament, I also know that you have been working very hard with this event.
16.05.2009 roku w Szwajcarii odbył się mecz karate pomiędzy reprezentacjami sześciu państw: Chorwacji, Włoch, Polski, Holandii, Francji i Szwajcarii. Reperzentacja Polskiej Organizacji Shinkyokushinkai, kierowana przez sensei Tomasza Basiaka i sempai Piotra Sztencla, w klasyfikacji końcowej zajęła 2 miejsce nieznacznie ustępując Chorwatom. Polską Organizację Shinkyokushinkai reprezentowali: Antonia Sochaczewska, Maciej Matusewicz, Julita Burczyńska, Radosław Parol, Piotr Sztencel oraz Tomasz Basiak.

As always, I�m very grateful for your support to our organization.
On April 26th, was the 15th anniversary of Sosai Masutatsu Oyama�s death. I hope, and I am sure that all of you spent some time thinking of Sosai that day. I myself visited Sosai�s grave at the Gokokuji Temple, and when I arrived the grave was covered with flowers, which shows that many people had visited his grave. It was a beautiful day, with a clear blue sky, and a warm sunshine. Before this day, it had been raining for days and this was the first day after the rain, thus the air was fresh and dry.
When standing in front of Sosai�s grave, closing my eyes, it was almost as I could hear his voice, it felt as he was telling me something. I received a lot of power from Sosai at that moment, and I promised him that we will continue our work to make the WKO the largest Budo Organization, and also that we will make next month�s World Cup a great success.
MACIEK MATUSEWICZ III NA MISTRZOSTWACH EUROPY shinKyokushinkai, UKRAINA 2009
W dniach 3-4 kwiecień 2009 w Kijowie na Ukrainie odbyły się Mistrzostwa Europy Karate Shinkyokushinkai. W zawodach jak co rocznie wzięło udział 34 kraje zrzeszone w Europejskiej Organizacji Karate w tym również i Polska. W Mistrzostwach Europy wystartowało około 300 zawodników a Polskę reprezentowali zawodnicy z Wałbrzycha Mateusz Ozimek w kategorii junior oraz Artur Mroszczyk z klubu KKS Samuraj natomiast Maciej Matusewicz (UKS Sparta) oraz Radosław Parol (SK SMOK) z Warszawskiego Ośrodka Shinkyokushinkai startowali w kategorii seniorów. Trenerami na zawodach byli - Artur Mroszczyk – trener juniorów, Tomasz Basiak – trener seniorów.

It is April, and the spring has come (of course not in all parts of the world). Here in Japan, April means the start of a new school year as well as a new working year, and as most of you know, the sign of this season here in Japan are the cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms are extraordinary beautiful to watch, especially since they show up after a cold winter, and both the warm weather and these beautiful flowers give you a peaceful mind. The flowers last only for about the week after which they together with the wind falls of the tree like a flower snowfall. I hope that you all are enjoying this season.
The World Cup! Only three months left! The tournament draw has been done here in Japan, together with two of the Russians Branch Chiefs; Mr Ilyushkin, and Mr Khidirov. The Russian Branch Chiefs are working very close together with the preparations of the World Cup, and thanks to their hard efforts, the work is done without any problems and according to the planned schedule. The tournament draw is a fair draw that has been done taking the level of the competitors, balance of regions and so on into consideration.
W dniu 15 marca 2009 roku odbyło się w Warszawie seminarium szkoleniowe Polskiej Organizacji Shinkyokushinkai. Seminarium prowadzone było przez sensei Jacka Baranowskiego oraz sensei Tomasza Basiaka. Przedmiotem spotkania było kumie, a w szczególności ostatni sprawdzian przed najważniejszymi zawodami w Europie – Mistrzostwami Europy Kyokushin Karate seniorów i juniorów. Turniej ten zostanie rozegrany na początku kwietnia w Kijowie na Ukrainie z udziałem ponad 300 zawodników z ponad 34 państw członkowskich EKO.
Seminarium rozpoczęło się od powitania zgromadzonych przez sensei Baranowskiego oraz sensei Basiaka. Po kilku słowach wstępu zgromadzeni karateka rozpoczęli właściwy trening.
11 stycznia odbył się pierwszy trening w nowym 2009 roku, Kagami Biraki, w Świątyni Gokuji, gdzie znajduje się grób Sosai.
Wszyscy Branch Chief i studenci z Tokyo i okolic przybyli na tą uroczystość. Po wspólnym treningu, tradycyjnie wykonany został pokaz kata i kumite przez Branch Chief. W tym roku kata zaprezentował shihan Kobayashi, a w kumite udzial wzięli Yuichiro Osaka (2 miejsce na 40 All Japan) i Knihiro Suzuki (3 miejsce na 40 All Japan).

I hope you all are doing fine, and your Branch and Dojos are growing! By reading the reports that you have sent to us, I can see that there are a great deal of activities going on around the world. It is a proof that you all are working very hard. Thank you so much!
Already two months of the New Year have past, and there are only four months left to the Karate World Cup. The WKO Office has received most of the applications for the World Cup, and the draw will be made by the end of March.
To those of you who will fight in the World Cup: it is a great honor to you representing your Region in this tournament, and at this moment, everyone has the chance to become the Champion.
14 lutego i w Polsce i na Węgrzech mniej lub bardziej hucznie obchodzone były walentynki. Ale nie tylko zakochani mieli swoje święto. W węgierskim mieście Nyiregyhaza odbył się jeden z 2 najmocniejszych europejskich turniejów Karate Kyokushin: „HUNGARIAN OPEN”. Polskim akcentem na tej niesamowitej imprezie był udany start Sempai Radka Parola „Kaprala”, który mimo że nie zajął medalowego miejsca, bardzo dobrze się spisał wśród najlepszych zawodników europejskich.
W turnieju brali udział reprezentanci: Węgier, Rumunii, Chorwacji, Czech, Polski, Litwy, Gruzji, Szwecji, Kazachstanu i Rosji. Szczególnie groźnym zawodnikiem w Kategorii Kaprala był reprezentant tego ostatniego kraju, legendarny Sensei Viktor Karasyuk 3 dan.
Obóz Zimowy Shinkyokushinkai, Poronin 18-25.01.2009
W dniach 18.01-25.01.2009 roku odbył się zimowy obóz Polskiej Organizacji Shinkyokushinkai. Tym razem karatecy doskonalili swój warsztat techniczny i sprawnościowy w malowniczo położonej miejscowości Poronin. Każdego dnia odbywały się cztery treningi prowadzone przez sensei Jacka Baranowskiego oraz sensei Tomasza Basiaka. Zajęcia odbywały się na sali oraz w terenie. Uczestnicy obozu zapewnione mieli również inne atrakcje w postaci łaźni parowych, wycieczki do Zakopanego czy też uroczystej kolacji w górskiej chacie na zakończenie turnusu.
W dniu 14.02.2009 roku na Węgrzech rezegrany zostanie międzynarodowy turniej Karate Kyokushin - Mistrzostwa Węgier w kategoriach wagowych. W turnieju startuje blisko 150 osób w kategorii kumite i kata. W zawodach udział biorą reprezentanci Czech, Szwecji, Węgier, Litwy, Rumunii, Chorwacji, Kazahstanu, Rosji, Polski, Gruzji, Włoch i Wegier. Swoją obecność zaznaczyły także organizacje IKO Matsushima, Kyokushin Kan international oraz Seido Karate.
Polskę na Hungarian Open reprezentuje Radosław Parol startujący w kategorii do 70 kg. Trener Piotr Sztencel.

6th FRENCH OPEN KARATE KYOKUSHIN 31.01.2009
W dniu 31.01.2009 roku we Francji odbyły sie 6 Mistrzostwa Francji Kyokushin Karate. Na starcie stawili się reprezentanci Wielkiej Brytanii, Polski, Czech, Szwecji, Niemiec, Bułgarii oraz Francji. W turnieju startowało ponad 100 osób. Polską Organizację Shinkyokushinkai reprezentowało 2 zawodników z Warszawy: Radosław Parol -70kg i Maciej Matusewicz +80kg i 1 zawodniczka Marta Szostak. Zarówno Radek jak i Maciek wygrali swoje pierwsze dwie walki kończąc przeciwników przed czasem. W kolejnych pojedynkach nasi reprezentanci spotkali się z utytułowanymi przeciwnikami i niestety musieli uznać ich wyższość. W ostateczności nasi zawodnicy uplasowlai sie na 3 miejscu każdy w swojej kategorii wagowej. Natomiast Marta po zaciętych pojedynkach zajęła w końcowej klasyfikacji 3 miejsce. Gratulujemy i życzymy dalszych sukcesów.

I would like to start my greeting with thanking you all for your hard work. I am always grateful to
you.
Here in Japan, we started the new year by visiting Sosai’s grave at the Gokokuji Temple on January 11th. It was a very cold day with a clear blue sky, and all Japanese Branch Chiefs joined a training session in the garden of the temple - our Kiai could be heard anywhere on the premises. It was nice to be training so close to Sosai, and I believe that we all completely focused on each one of the punches and kicks. As always, at this first training (Kagami Biraki) of the year, one of the Japanese Branch Chiefs makes a demonstration, this has now become a tradition, and this year it was Shihan Kobayashi who performed the Kata Tensho. He made a great performance, and everybody who watched was impressed. Thank you very much, Kobayashi-shihan! After the training, we gathered in a silent prayer in front of Sosai’s grave stone, and on behalf of you all, we prayed for a successful Karate World Cup in Russia.
Z przyjemnością informujemy, że następujące osoby złożyły pomyślnie egzamin na stopnie mistrzowskie:

Egzamin odbył się w Poroninie 23-24 stycznia w trzech etapach kihon i ido geiko, test wytrrzymałości, oraz kumite. Egzamin przeprowadzono zgodnie z wymogami egzaminacyjnymi Polskiej Organizacji Shinkyokushinkai oraz World karate Organization. Ogółem w egzaminie uczestniczyło 11 osób w tym 5 osób na czarne pasy shodan i nidan oraz 6 osób na stopnie 10 - 1 kyu. Komisja egzaminacyjna: sensei Jacek Baranowski, sensei Tomasz Basiak

This is the last Newsletter for this year, and I would like to start my greeting with thanking you all for your hard work in 2008, and I also would like to wish you a Happy New Year!
Here in Japan, the most important day of the year is January 1st. This is the day when we should make plans for the new year, and, after you have made your plans, you will start to act. I hope that you all will start the new year happily with full of expectations and that you all will make up great plans for the coming year.
My goal for the coming year is only one: “To make the WKO the largest and strongest karate organization in the world”. In order to fulfill this goal, there are two major points I would like to focus on: point 1: to make the World Cup the best and most successful tournament, point 2: to increase our number of WKO, so that we will have Branches in more than 100 countries
For us, the World Cup is the main event of 2009.
